Travel Thursday~ Philadelphia, PA ~Made In America Festival

It’s only right that we travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the city of brotherly love, where the annual Made In America festival is held. The event occurs on Labor Day weekend every year. Such a wonderful way to end the summer. The festival was founded and curated by one of my favorite artists Jay Z.

The purpose of the festival is to bring different music genres and cultures together.

I had the pleasure of visiting Philly once in 2012 and that was to attend the Music festival. Yep that’s right I made history! I was one of the 80,000 Americans who descended to Philadelphia, September 1, 2012 for the inaugural Made In America Festival.

When I say I love Philly! I love Philly!

I see why they call it the city of brotherly love. Jay Z could not have picked a better place to have the festival. Not only was everyone pleasant and hospitable, I had the best time of my life. And I didn’t even get to see what all the city had to offer. Philly welcomed all 80,000 of us with open arms.

I had the pleasure of visiting the famous Love Park, you know I’m a hopeless romantic so I was in love with the sign.

I also got a chance to see that Liberty Bell, I have heard about it a thousand times and was blessed to see it once.

I had the best time of my life. I literally partied the entire weekend with people I didn’t know. It was an amazing experience. It was just that kind of weekend. Jay Z is a class act and this festival was one of a kind.

We have no idea who this man is, we just partied.
Waiting for Drake to come out
I have no idea who this is.

The Festival includes 3 stages of live music: Rocky Stage, Liberty Stage, and Freedom Stage. When we first decided to go I was wondering how the hell, would he make that happen. But Jay made it happen in a very tasteful way. I had the best time of my life.

It rained on the second day of the festival. I was skeptical at first. But the show went on, I danced in the rain with my poncho on. It was so much fun. If you have never danced in the rain you are missing out.

The performances was one of a kind and you can tell everyone gave 200%. I had the pleasure to see Drake, he killed his performance. Jay-Z of course, Kanye, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, and Jill Scott.

Philly represented!!

Not only was there music, it was plenty of things to do at the festival. There was lots of vendors, food trucks and stations, and games.

I only got to see a small piece of what Philly had to offer. However, the Made In America Festival made you feel like you experienced it all. I know there is so much more to see and do. I wanted to visit South Street, and to visit the museums. I really loved Philly, so I have I added it back to my bucket list.

Thank you Philly! I have never forgotten you.
