A Day in Paris~Travel Thursday

I had the pleasure of spending the day in Paris on my vacation. It was an amazing way to spend my layover. If you have a layover of 10 hours or more, I highly recommend taking the advantage to see the city you are in.

When I arrived in France at the CDG airport, I must say the airport was massive and amazing, it was beautiful like a mini Paris. It was one of a kind. It was a traveler luxury airport. I was able to relax comfortably before I went out to the city. The city center which was in the heart of Paris, where many of the monuments and tourist attractions were. I was able to get to the city center from the airport easily.

There was a lot of assistance to get you to your destination. Once I cleared customs, I took a bus to the city center. The round trip ticket was $32 dollars. I was going to use the train, but I was advised by staff at the airport they were on strike, so I didn’t want to take any chances although a train ride would have been cheaper. Plus the bus came every 30 minutes.

Due to traffic, from the early morning commute. It took about one hour and a half to arrive to the city center.

I only wanted to visit two places in Paris and that was to visit the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum. Well I didn’t make it to Louvre, however I made it the most photographed place in the world the Eiffel Tower.

It was everything I expected. It was larger than life. So many people was there just trying to get a good picture. I got some pictures, however I was not dressed for the weather. So my pictures wasn’t what I was expecting.

Coming from Africa I had on shorts, France was very cold. It was so cold I had to purchase a warm hoodie. That’s the only way I could enjoy my day.

After I purchased my hoodie, I felt better and my day in Paris began.

My first stop was to visit different Paris cafe bars. They are just as popular as the Eiffel Tower. Sitting and sipping is a common pleasure to experience in Paris. So much that they even provide heaters outside for cold months. I enjoyed sitting outside. It was a beautiful experience.

I was so excited that I had a real French croissant and cappuccino. The light brunch was $17 dollars but well worth it for the experience.

Then off to the Eiffel Tower I go, I’m scared of heights so I wasn’t interested in going up. So seeing it was enough for me.

Across from the Eiffel Tower, there was the beautiful Siene River. I just enjoyed the view, took in all the beauty and people watched. If I had more time I would taken the cruise, maybe next time.

I also saw The Arc de Triomphe, which pays homage to the army of France. There are over 660 names of generals and members of the army engraved on the insides of the arch.

Paris was a beautiful place, It’s known as the city of lights. It was beautiful during the day, so I can only imagine the night view. I look forward to visiting again where I would have more time to take in all the sites.

Way to go! I wouldve done the same thing if I had a 10 hour layover in Paris! I was there in March and April! Such a great time. They strike there alot because the workers aren’t paid enough and alot of people live below the poverty line ☹ Thanks for sharing your wonderful day with us ❤🌻🦋
